The Chamber hopes the NYS Senate rejects this latest one-year moratorium proposal; let’s let the very capable DEC finish its job, so we can begin to capture the many benefits that safe and responsible gas drilling can generate.

Chemung County Transit Begins Service to DeMet's

The Chemung County Transit System (CCTS) will add bus service beginning June 6th to bring employees to DeMet's Candy Company in Airport Corporate Park. The new service is a response to Chemung County being made aware that new and existing employees needed transportation from Elmira to get to work at DeMet's in Big Flats for their two 12-hour work shifts (6 to 6).  The CCTS mobility manager was able to coordinate efforts and bring the project to fruition. This additional service is being funded in part with Federal transit funding targeted specifically to support transit services to and from work.

Coming from the relative tameness of the suburbs, I loved running free all summer with the other kids and exploring the nearby woods. On Wednesday, May 11th, New York State Homes and Community Renewal Commissioner Darryl Towns brought the "People First” campaign to Corning Community College, where he outlined Governor Cuomo's legislative priorities and told New Yorkers that their voices must be heard in order to get Albany to act on such reforms.
