ELMIRA  _ The New York State Health Department’s Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC) has approved the Certificate of Need application to consolidate Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Chemung County Transit Begins Service to DeMet's

The Chemung County Transit System (CCTS) will add bus service beginning June 6th to bring employees to DeMet's Candy Company in Airport Corporate Park. The new service is a response to Chemung County being made aware that new and existing employees needed transportation from Elmira to get to work at DeMet's in Big Flats for their two 12-hour work shifts (6 to 6).  The CCTS mobility manager was able to coordinate efforts and bring the project to fruition. This additional service is being funded in part with Federal transit funding targeted specifically to support transit services to and from work.
