Street Signs Available for City of Elmira's 150th Anniversary

Posted May 13, 2014

2014 celebrates the 150th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Elmira. To commemorate this anniversary, the Sesquicentennial Committee, with cooperation from the City of Elmira, is initiating a Second District Enhancement Project which includes new street signs and sign placards throughout the downtown area of the city.

The new street signs are white and gold; the sign placard is white with the blue sesquicentennial logo and sponsor information in gold.

These distinguishing signs and sign placards will promote a sense of community and provide visibility for the downtown area of Elmira as well as emphasize the importance of neighborhood preservation and revitalization. This project will also promote and enhance the visitor experience.

To support the collaborative project, the Sesquicentennial Committee invites the community to "Sign Up" in support of the 150th anniversary of the City of Elmira. For a donation of $250, the supporter's name will be added to the sign placard. Placards are limited and requests for intersection placement will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.
