Making Long Term Care Decisions
The Human Resources Association of the Twin Tiers will hold a networking and educational session on
Thursday, June 12, 2008, from 7:45 to 9:15 a.m.
at DC2, the Chemung County Regional Airport restaurant.
A breakfast buffet is included in the cost of $10 for members, $12 for non-members.
This month’s program will feature a variety of topics. The first will be an update on the proposed paid FMLA legislation and instructions for contacting key political leaders to voice opposition. The second topic will be a presentation from Dick Rahill of the High School Learning Center at Corning Community College. Mr. Rahill helped establish a program designed to offer a curriculum to students in the Corning-Painted Post district who learn better outside of the normal school environment. One of the major elements of this program is for the students to obtain employment in addition to their standard educational curriculum. Dick will discuss how local employers can offer their support for this important educational program. Finally, the group will participate in a HR Roundtable on maintaining a positive outlook as an HR professional. The HR professional needs to adapt quickly to change and be a leader within the organization. It is also the position that must handle very difficult situations, complaints, and performance issues on a regular basis. Members and guests will be encouraged to share tips for managing the stress that they deal with in their daily lives. Members and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please RSVP by June 20 by contacting Teresa Haight at 607/562-7102 or email her at teresa_haight@avanex.com to secure a seat at the breakfast. THE ARTS ANNOUNCES UPCOMING
